Anteportalatina sustituye al reconocido Añadas Frías cuando la añada es más cálida y por lo tanto el vino tiene un carácter diferente, mayor volumen y notas aromáticas más maduras.

Finca San Juan de Anteportalatina es la pequeña parcela donde nacen Añadas Frías y SJ Anteportalatina, vinos que comparten origen, pero nunca añada. Cuando las características del viñedo son las que definen la personalidad del vino, por encima de las de la añada, es cuando sale al mercado SJ Anteportalatina.

La cata

Es la segunda añada que se hace y sigue el estilo del 2015. Curiosamente, este es el viñedo de menor altitud que trabaja Pujanza, pero sigue produciendo un blanco fresco. Este 2017 no es nada cálido y no transmite calor. De hecho, se siente bastante fresco; el alcohol es bastante moderado y tiene un pH bajo. El vino no pasa por la maloláctica, porque con ella el pH es casi imposible, pero las uvas maduran bien y no tienen mucho ácido málico. Tiene flores amarillas y notas de manzanilla y polen, limpias y modernas. En boca es bastante armonioso, con sabores limpios y centrados y una textura calcárea, con buena frescura y equilibrio, bastante integrado.

"The 2017 Anteportalatina is the one white that is bottled when no Añadas Frías is produced—""añadas frías"" means cold vintages, so this is the white from warmer/riper years. This is from exactly the same vineyard as the Añadas Frías but has a different name. This is the second vintage made, and it follows the style of the 2015. Funnily enough, this is the lower-altitude vineyard worked by Pujanza, but it still produces a fresh white. This 2017 is not warm at all and does not transmit heat. In fact, it feels quite fresh; the alcohol is quite moderate (13.05% ) and it has a low pH (3.05). The wine does not go through malolactic, because with that, pH is almost impossible, but the grapes ripen nicely and don't have much malic acid. This matured in a combination of 225- and 500-liter oak barrels and an 800-liter egg-shaped concrete vat for 15 months. It still feels very young and oaky, but Viura takes oak nicely and should integrate those aromas with some more time in bottle. It has yellow flowers and notes of chamomile and pollen, clean and modern. The palate is quite harmonious, with clean and focused flavors and a chalky texture, with good freshness and balance, quite integrated. Perhaps the one white Rioja also produced in this style could be the Plácet from the Palacios family. 1,812 bottles were filled in January 2019."
